1. Stated Issue-
The ad makes it very clear that Senator John Mccain doesn't know enough about the economy as a presidential candidate should. This issue is very important when deciding the next president of the United States. The people of this country shouldn't settle for someone who knows less about the economy. Mccain has been said to be identical to bush in various ways, and this country would have four more years of the Bush administration on our hands. Mccain agrees with President George Bush on 90 percent of everything he says, which includes the Iraq war. Economics should be one of the top priorites for a president to know about, and if one does not know that much about economics then they are definatly not qualified for the job.

2. Implied issues-
“The issue of economics is something that I’ve really never understood as well as I should.” This message is plain and simple, John McCain simply does not understand the issue on economics, and his economic plan would give enormous tax breaks to corporations over working families. McCain on President Bush since he took office: “I think if you look at the overall record and millions of jobs have been created… you can make an argument that there’s been great progress economically over that period of time.” This statement is just idiocy at its highest level, McCain says the economy has gotten better in the past years of George Bush being President which is definitely not true.

3. Target audience-

In the ad Barack Obama chose to target the middle class, because most of the working families belong to this particular class. There is a big misunderstanding between McCain and the middle class, as McCain believes that we are not headed in recession and have a strong economy, but 81 percent of the population believes we’re already there. The ad also targets the lower class because they are effected even more by the economy. This ad should make the lower class think about who they want in office, if they choose one candidate they will be stuck at their economic level, if they choose the other they will have a chance of a better life.

4. Issue ad-
This ad is portrayed as an issues ad, because it discusses the issue of the economy as well as a resemblance between McCain and Bush. Obama explains that McCain’s views are too similar to Bush’s, especially on economics views. There will just be another four years of the same issues that are trying to be fixed now, and that would be very idiotic for the American people to do again to themselves.

5. Negative attack on McCain

This ad is a negative attack on McCain from Obama, mostly on the issue of Americas future economy. Obama explains how McCain has no idea of how to control our economy the way our president is supposed to. The other negative attack on McCain is that they make him seem like he will run this nation just like Bush did. Like Bush, McCain supports the war on Iraq, and agrees with Bush 90% of the time. So for people who hate bush this is a really effective negative ad against him.
